Widget Marketing

Traditionally, a “Widget” was used by professors in business to describe an item/product which had to be marketed by the company. Today, it can be installed and executed by an end user within a separate html based web page without any additional compilation as it is a chunk of code which is portable. To understand Widgets in a higher level each one of them are a combination of XML metadata and Broadcast Receiver which in turn describes the widget details.

As widgets have a range of digital marketing techniques like Brand advertising and Brand engagement, lead generation and direct response sales, strategic viral marketing and Online PR they can as well support in marketing.

Widgets also help in displaying the calendar events that are yet to come, if any song is being played in the back ground we can view the details of it too.

The most important factor about Widgets is that the user cannot control the content. The content or the functionality of the widget provided can not be modified by the user. The content is pre-published by the publisher/author/service provider and the user can either accept that content or not use the widget. The user does however control the placement of the Widget. Because, the user can always take the Widget down, it assures a large degree of mutual advantage and satisfaction with performance and content.
